Our Story

Once upon a time in Denver an oilman was drinking
wondering if his ship would ever stop sinking.
Jim Duffey looked up to order another
Not knowing Nicolai the bartender would be like a brother

Soon after Jim and Nicolai formed a team
Intent on pursuing the American Dream
The time was spring and prosperity seemed a far away thing
Pushcarts were made and alarm clocks were set
It was clearly a time neither would forget.

They waked and they baked rise and shine
Their cinnamon rolls considered oh so fine
A legend evolved. It grew and grew
In Colorado and beyond, everyone knew.
The vision and passion did not wilt
The Duffeyroll Café was finally built

Since 1986, The Duffeyroll Café has become a landmark in Denver as a neighborhood gathering place where our guests enjoy our warm ambience, photo gallery of friends over the years, and sunny outdoor patio. Duffeyrolls are now offered in three sizes and with a choice of six signature glaze toppings. Our bakery café also offers premium whole bean coffees, complimentary baked goods, hearty soups, fresh sandwiches and wraps, and the Brewster Chicken Salad.
We feature Duffey's own Islesboro Iced Tea.

In 2002, we introduced our wildly popular and delicious Bake at Home Duffeyroll pans.

Our goal is to continue building the Duffeyroll Brand with integrity and creativity. Duffey's will continue to operate with an unwavering commitment towards quality and charity in our community.

I would like to thank our ever growing family of friends and the wonderful staff members who have helped establish The Duffeyroll Café as the Treasured Colorado Tradition that it has become.
